Through its member organizations, the Pharmacy Manpower Project (PMP) seeks to collect, analyze and disseminate data on the supply of licensed pharmacists in the United States, the demand for pharmacy services and related pharmacy student and workforce issues for educational, scientific, or charitable purposes. The data reported here were submitted by a panel of persons who participate in the hiring of pharmacists on a direct and regular basis. It is intended that the panel represent the major geographic and practice sectors of pharmacy practice in the United States. Membership on the panel is by invitation from PMP members and consultants. Data submitted by panel members are confidential. Panelists are not compensated for participation. 5 = High demand: difficult to fill open positions
4 = Moderate demand: some difficulty filling open positions
3 = Demand in balance with supply
2 = Demand is less than the pharmacist supply available
1 = Demand is much less than the pharmacist supply available
